Della Mae Releases “First Song Dancer” From Forthcoming LP ‘Headlight,” New Tour Dates Added

January 10, 2020 – Nashville, TN – Today, Della Mae unveiled a new album track and video for “First Song Dancer” from their eagerly-anticipated new album Headlight. The album, which will be released on January 17, is their first full-length release in five years and the follow-up to 2019’s acclaimed

The Butcher Shoppe EP.

“First Song Dancer,” available today via digital service providers, pays tribute to “that person in the audience who gives you all their energy right off the bat, and makes you feel like you’re up there for a reason,” says fiddler & vocalist Kimber Ludiker, who co-wrote the song with bandmate Celia Woodsmith. As Woodsmith told American Songwriter‘s Madeline Crone, “The first song dancer has saved me more times than I can count.” The accompanying lyric video was created by Becky Warren.

Della Mae —  anchored by founding members Kimber Ludiker (fiddle, vocals), Celia Woodsmith (vocals, guitar), and Jenni Lyn Gardner (mandolin, vocals) and joined by Avril Smith (guitar) and Vicki Vaughn (bass) —  will kick off their 2020 tour in support of Headlight on January 22 in Cambridge, England. A full list of dates is below, and more shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
