When writing Saviour Complex, Esme went outside of her own personal experiences, and took inspiration from TV and Films. Whilst going through a phase of watching survival films, Esme noticed a pattern; there was always a male character to step in and save the day in the final moments. This inspired the premise of the song. The combination of a catchy guitar riff, heavy drums and Esme’s delicate vocals draped on top creates an idiosyncratic piece to finish off her 2nd EP.
In the lead-up to the EP’s release, Esme has unveiled a series of standout singles, including Propranolol, 5 o’clock, and Boys In Bands, each hinting at the bold and expressive themes that define Saviour Complex. The EP culminates with its title track, delivering a powerful and cathartic conclusion to the project.
Tracklist:
1. Propranolol
2. 5 o’clock
3. Boys In Bands
4. Saviour Complex
To celebrate the release, Esme Bridie will headline ARC, Baltic in Liverpool on April 17th, treating fans to a live performance of the new EP alongside her growing catalog of music.
