JADE BIRD’S ACOUSTIC VERSION OF “UH HUH” DEBUTS

ON U.S. HEADLINE TOUR NOW

The acoustic version of Jade Bird’s latest single “Uh Huh” is debuting today. Listen/share here: http://smarturl.it/UhHuhAcoustic. The song is receiving early critical praise—Rolling Stone hails, “Bird hearkens back to golden age alt-rock heroes like Alanis and Courtney Love. But it’s the traces of Loretta Lynn-style down-home feminism that put ‘Uh Huh’ over the top,” while Harper’s Bazaar furthers, “The gritty, electric track shows a rougher, louder side to the guitar-wielding 20-year-old musician…”

“Uh Huh” follows the release of songs “Lottery,” and “Furious,” as well as Jade’s 2017 EP Something American on Glassnote Records. There will be more music to come as she finishes up recording her debut full-length.

Jade is currently on her first official headline tour throughout the U.S. this fall. Following a sold out shows at Los Angeles’ Troubadour, she’ll make further stops at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom, Washington DC’s Rock & Roll Hotel, Chicago’s Lincoln Halland more. See below for details.

Born in Hexham, U.K., Jade’s early life was spent mainly in flight with both parents in the army. One of life’s few constants proved to be the influence of strong working women. At first via her mother and grandmother, who largely raised her, but later the female role models within the musical subcultures Jade become obsessed with: from empowering country heroines like Loretta Lynn to iconic alternative songwriters like Patti Smith; Alanis Morisette’s Jagged Little Pill was a similar early touchstone, as well as current influences including Haim and Christine and the Queens. Jade spoke with Noisey about the influence of these and other women on her music.
