Morrissey Covers The Pretenders’ “Back On The Chain Gang”

Morrissey to perform on The Late Late Show with James Corden November 7th

The Video For The “Touching” Cover Premieres Exclusively On Rolling Stone Today

Morrissey pays tribute to his dear friend and collaborator Chrissie Hynde with a cover of Pretenders’ classic “Back on the Chain Gang.” The video, premiering exclusively on Rolling Stone today, sees the “peerless” (Rolling Stone) rocker playing guitar flanked by his backing band and hazy-eyed dancers in 60s fashion in front of a wall of old posters depicting the man himself. The video’s Lynchian setting only further adds to the dreamy air of the cover, a jangly re-imagining of the original bolstered by Morrissey’s unmistakable croon.
