New Commute have shared a live recording of a new Esther Rose song, “Levee Song”

“A few weeks ago, Jordan and I were on tour supporting The Cactus Blossoms. We had a day off in St. Louis and linked up with Tim Gebauer at his studio Electropolis. I first met Tim in 2018 when I somehow convinced him to sell me his Gibson ES 120T. It felt very full circle to bring that guitar back, years later, and to be back on the road with The Cactus Blossoms, which is basically my happy place.

I’ve been playing a ton of new music on tour. It felt great to get a nice acoustic version of this song, and to play a couple of Tim’s gorgeous acoustic guitars.

I wrote Levee Song during lockdown. The morning I wrote it I remember thinking, ‘no more heartbreak songs.’ So instead l wrote a friendship song for my pal Casey Jane. This song is dedicated to all the badass women in my life.”

Esther Rose began a West Coast headline tour last night in Denver, Colorado with Dean Johnson supporting. Tickets are available here.
