“You’re real country pure and simple.”
– Shania Twain on Frey
(October 11, 2019 – Nashville, Tenn.) Rising artist Kylie Frey reimagines the feeling of unbridled longing with the October 18 launch of her new single “One Night in Tulsa.” It is the first piece of music from a forthcoming musical dialogue with GRAMMY-winning producer, Paul Worley.
Pre-add/Pre-save “One Night In Tulsa” now HERE.
Co-written alongside Thom McHugh and Neal Coty, “One Night in Tulsa” perfectly articulates the distances one will go to feel a genuine connection with a trustworthy heart. Her words pour on perennial country imagery of buck wild, barebacked mustangs, barefooted walks through Arkansas and month-long journeys through a desert for one night with someone deserving.
“I was going to go to Oklahoma City and meet up with a guy I connected with from California,” Frey says of the song’s inspiration. “I was going for a rodeo, and I had friends who were going to be there, but it was the one time I actually used my head and didn’t go. I was looking at the map on my phone to see how far it was from Nashville to Oklahoma City when the idea of ‘Two Nights in Tulsa’ popped out. You’ve got alliteration there. When I went into the session, the more that we kept writing, the more the emotion and desperation kept creeping in. It ended up being ‘One Night in Tulsa,’ and the song that got me my first record deal.”
Frey will celebrate the new music with a series of performances in Nashville and Texas. For a complete list of dates, visit Frey’s website at https://www.kyliefrey.com/.
