Armed with a four-piece band, “stunning harmonies” (NYLON) and a new album on the horizon, Lily & Madeleine will embark on a tour early 2019. The first leg includes stops in DC, Philadelphia, Chicago, and an album release show in the duo’s new home of Brooklyn, NY.
Produced by by Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves), Lily & Madeleine’s ‘Canterbury Girls’ is due Feb. 22 via New West Records. The record is named after Canterbury Park, located in the duo’s hometown of Indianapolis, IN, and a place that’s a breeding ground for these songs, all written or co-written by the sisters, which explore relationships, power imbalances, and the weight of expectation.
The duo just released the album’s “dreamy” (Rolling Stone) first track — a “gorgeous song” (Refinery29) called “Self Care,” which can be heard here: youtu.be/6KPrBWwA_cc
Lily & Madeleine have grown personally and globally as artists. Not only have they found a new confidence and musical poise, but they’ve toured as a headlining act, opened for everyone from Dawes to Rodriguez, and in summer 2017, were invited to join John Mellencamp’s Sad Clowns and Hillbillies Tour.
The siblings’ 2019 run will kick off in New Haven, CT, on Mon., Feb. 18. For tickets and more information, visit lilandmad.com.
