NAMM 2020: JACKSON® EXPANDS ITS SPECTRA BASS LINEUP WITH NEW X SERIES NECK-THROUGH MODELS AND ADDITIONAL JS SERIES FINISHES

Scottsdale, Ariz. (January 16, 2020) – Jackson® today announces the expansion of its Spectra Bass lineup with all-new X Series models and additional finishes for the JS Series.

The Jackson® X Series Spectra Bass SBX IVX Series Spectra Bass SBXM IV and X Series Spectra Bass SBX V take the adventurous player on a bold bass odyssey with modern style, flexible tone and incomparable value.

The offset body style of these models was innovatively designed with a larger upper horn that evenly distributes weight throughout the instrument for perfect balance and playing comfort. The graphite-reinforced through-body maple neck with scarf joint creates formidable sustain, with a speed neck contour, 12”-16” compound radius fingerboard and 24 frets for superior playability.

These models provide a full-sonic spectrum for even the most versatile and progressive bassists. Dual passive medium-output humbucking pickups create a dynamic foundation with punch, power and note articulation. Wide-ranging tonal command comes from a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band active EQ, blend control and volume control with push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the 3-band EQ. The push/pull selector eliminates the risk of losing sound due to a dead battery. A quick pull on the volume knob bypasses the active circuit, making it easy to regain sound from the bass without the use of battery power. These models are also equipped with a HiMass™ hardtail bridge that enhances sustain and improves attack.

Featuring a laurel fingerboard and a 34” scale, the SBX IV is available in Neon Orange or Satin Graphite with black hardware. The 34”-scale SBXM IV offers a maple fingerboard and comes in a Snow White finish with gold hardware.  The five-string SBX V features a 35” scale and laurel fingerboard, and is available in either Electric Blue or Metallic Black finishes with black hardware. All models feature a unique black headstock with an understated “J” logo.

Boasting versatile style and enormous sound with an entry-level price tag, the Jackson JS Series Spectra Bass lineup expands with all new finishes.

The JS Series Spectra Bass JS3 is now offered in a Snow White finish with gold hardware, while the JS3Q’s quilt maple top is dressed in a Dark Sunburst finish with gold hardware. Both of these 4-string, 34”-scale basses feature a unique 2×2 black headstock with understated J logo.

The 35”-scale JS3QV now comes in a remarkable Purple Phaze finish over its quilt maple top with black nickel hardware and a unique 3×2 black headstock with an understated J logo.

The offset Spectra body style of these instruments was designed with the artist in mind. The poplar body with large upper horn evenly distributes weight throughout the instrument, providing perfect balance by reducing neck dive for hours of comfortable playing. A graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck with scarf joint design provides rock-solid reliability, while the speed neck contour and 12”-16” compound radius laurel fingerboard with 24 frets make for lightning-fast playability.

These basses provide a sound that is as unique as the musician playing it. Whether it be funk, hard rock or gospel, dual passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups create a monstrous low-end growl, while a HiMass™ bridge provides enhanced stability, improved sustain and bolder tone. Tone can be further refined and tweaked with a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band EQ (active only), blend control and volume control (with push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the 3-band EQ). With the push/pull selector, there’s never a fear of the battery running out and losing sound. A quick pull on the volume knob will bypass the active circuit, making it easy to regain sound from the bass without the use of battery power.
