ROUNDER RECORDS ARTISTS TAKE HOME HONORS AT THE 59TH ANNUAL GRAMMY® AWARDS

  Sarah Jarosz Takes Home Two Awards for Best Folk Album and Best American Roots Performance

The O’Connor Band with Mark O’Connor Claim Best Bluegrass Album, Bobby Rush Takes Best Traditional Blues Album, and Vince Gill of The Time Jumpers Presented With Award For Best American Roots Song

Rounder Records is pleased to congratulate our GRAMMY winners, Sarah Jarosz, The O’Connor Band with Mark O’Connor, Bobby Rush and The Time Jumpers. Sarah Jarosz took home two awards: Undercurrent won for Best Folk Album and “House of Mercy” took Best American Roots Performance. Bobby Rush’s Porcupine Meat claimed Best Traditional Blues Album, while The O’Connor Band’s Coming Home won for Best Bluegrass Album, and The Time Jumpers song “Kid Sister,” written by Vince Gill, was honored with Best American Roots Song. Awards were presented at the 59th Annual GRAMMY® Awards Premiere Ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.

This marks the third, fourth and fifth nominations and first win for Sarah Jarosz for Best Folk Album and Best American Roots Performance. Undercurrent is Jarosz’s fourth album. She also presented during the Premiere Ceremony.

Bobby Rush’s win for Best Traditional Blues Album is his first GRAMMY win and fourth nomination.

Coming Home is the eponymous debut album for the O’Connor Band. This is the group’s first GRAMMY win and Mark O’Connor’s third. The O’Connor Band also performed “Ruby, Are You Mad At Your Man?” from their award winning album during the Premiere Ceremony.

This is the Time Jumpers’ fifth and sixth nominations and first win as a group for Best American Roots Song (“Kid Sister”). “Kid Sister” is a tribute to late band member Dawn Sears. The Time Jumpers are Vince Gill, “Ranger Doug” Green, Paul Franklin, Brad Albin, Billy Thomas, Kenny Sears, Larry Franklin, Andy Reiss, Jeff Taylor, and Joe Spivey.
