MELISSA ETHERIDGE RELEASES NEW LIVE ALBUM I’M NOT BROKEN (LIVE FROM TOPEKA CORRECTIONAL FACILITY)

New York, NY (July 9, 2024) – Award-winning rockstar and activist Melissa Etheridge announces today the release of her new album I’m Not Broken (Live From Topeka Correctional Facility)available now on all streaming platforms and in stores July 12th!

Recorded live within the grounds of the Topeka Correctional Facility, the 12-track album features raw and rousing versions of specially curated fan favorites, as well as a new original song, “Burning Woman,” inspired by the stories told throughout Etheridge’s correspondence with five of the residents. Released via the legendary Sun Records, and mixed by Vance Powell (Chris Stapleton, Wanda Jackson, Taylor Swift), the record captures Etheridge’s powerful message of hope through song as she brings an unforgettable concert experience to the incarcerated women of Topeka Correctional Facility. Along with moving live renditions of her massive hits, the recording is filled with earnest stage banter from Etheridge and approving cheers from the residents, offering a true ear into the transcendent atmosphere of the full-scale concert.

Etheridge’s live album accompanies her two-part docuseries, MELISSA ETHERIDGE: I’M NOT BROKENavailable now to stream on Paramount+. The project follows the award-winning rocker’s honest and humbling journey both penning and performing an original song inspired by letters written to her from five female residents of Topeka Correctional Facility. An inspiring story of connectivity, empathy, and music’s power to heal, the documentary explores themes of female incarceration, redemption, substance abuse, generational trauma, grief, and healing.
