Annie Omalley Releases Captivating New Album ‘all the things that skare me’

Annie Omalley’s brand-new album, all the things that skare me, blends elements of pop, drum and bass, and hyper-pop into a sound she calls “temper tantrum pop.”

Omalley wrote every track on the album. As creative director she managed every aspect of branding, visuals, and marketing. Collaborating with seven producers, one mixing engineer, and three mastering engineers, all the things that skare me reflects her passion and authenticity.

“I’m the writer, the singer, the creative director, the PR agency, and the marketing agency,” says Annie. “I want people to know how much I truly love and protect my art. I put my entire life and being into my projects and albums. That’s why people will resonate with it. It’s not manufactured or just an album I’m making because it’s cool to do. I believe the world needs and hasn’t had it before.”

Two years in the making, all the things that skare me delves into topics listeners identify with:  the idea of monsters under our beds or lurking in the closet – things we avoid facing head on. However, the reality of the monsters is they are wounded and isolated portions of our innermost selves.

Made up of 14 tracks, the album begins with the title track, opening on dreamy, swirling tones that roll into a catchy, pulsating rhythm topped by Omalley’s evocative vocals.

Highlights include “2gether 4ever,” a creamy, buoyant tune with dazzling colors and shiny, radiant vocal harmonies. A personal favorite because of its darker hues and Omalley’s velvety, nuanced vocals that take on whispery textures at times, “celebrations & obsessive thoughts” vibrates with dynamic vibrancy and gleaming layers of sound.

“road raje” starts off slowly on emerging surfaces and then ramps up to a pushing melody full of effervescent energy. Whereas the feel and flow of “klose the door” conjures up sensations of lusciously swaying motions as Omalley’s voice delivers delicious, sweeping timbres.

Another gem, “ao627lk710,” featuring Louis Knight thrums with tight, fluctuating hues. The softer harmonic glow of “sobure” allows Omalley to showcase the silkier range of her voice. Traveling on an EDM-like rhythm, “luckie” presents a dazzling melody drenched in edgy humming layers.

At once delightful and wondrously wrought, on all the things that skare me, Annie Omalley offers a collection of luxurious, lush pop songs.
