Nashville, TN – June 7, 2019 — Stephanie Urbina Jones and the Honky Tonk Mariachis performed for industry insiders on the balcony of the Cannery Ballroom in Nashville, TN following the CMT Music Awards on June 5. Jones, who has been making history with her honky tonk mariachi sound and distinct performances of country classics, performed with her mariachi band. The set featured songs from Jones’ 2018 album, Tularosa, including country favorites like “Rose Garden,” “Jolene,” “Ring of Fire,” and “Walking After Midnight.” Jones also honored four of the nominees for CMT Music Video of the Year, performing a medley of songs in her signature honky tonk mariachi style: “Burning Man” (Dierks Bentley/Brothers Osborne), “Desperate Man” (Eric Church), “Someone I Used To Know” (Zac Brown Band) and “Cry Pretty” (Carrie Underwood).

Robert K. Oermann of MusicRow says of Jones’ music, “Marrying country songs to Latin rhythms and Mariachi horns is an idea that should have been hatched years ago.”

In September 2018, Jones released her latest studio album, Tularosa, an inspired marriage of country classics and mariachi rhythms named for the place where it was recorded. Tularosa honors Jones’ musical icons — a string of legends from Dolly, Patsy, Willie, and Merle to Johnny and June — and the Mexican heritage that feeds her sound and soul. CMT.com recently premiered Jones’ version of the classic “Jolene” on Cinco de Mayo. Jones has also performed twice on the Grand Ole Opry.
