Quickly attracting fans and listeners with over 279K+ streams of her music on Spotify and a viral TikTok video with over 434,000 views (watch here), “Tightrope” follows Onoleigh’s previously released singles “Why Can’t We Dance,” “Beautifully Broken,” “Make It Hurt,” and “Ghost Stories.”
Onoleigh first announced “Tightrope” while performing with John Oates (Hall & Oates) at the CMA Theatre in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Sharing more about the songwriting process with the audience, Onoleigh said, “I remember the day Kenny and I wrote ‘Tightrope.’ He asked me if this was a song I wanted to write or needed to write. It quite literally changed the way I approach songwriting.”
During that show, the former guidance counselor, also shared more about following her heart and pursuing a career in music, adding “Following a dream feels a lot like walking a tightrope…it is absolutely not comfortable, it’s terrifying and exhausting most of the time, but the thrill of following something bigger than yourself is absolutely worth risking it all for.”
