Jessie Deluxe has released her latest album Magic, available on all streaming platforms on Friday, July 15th. The album snakes its way from beautiful choruses to outcries of death and uncertainty, and features Jessie Deluxe’s melodic vocals to contrast the harsh soundscape.
“It’s a combination of apocalyptic visions mixed with operatic melodies and screams that reach for hope in the middle of a world in disruption,” says Jessie. “We worked on the album for about 6 months in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was a dream to record with my longtime friend and guitar hero Dave [Catching]”
Magic was recorded at the famous Queens of the Stone Age recording studio Rancho De La Luna with Dave Catchings (Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal, & Mojave Lords) and John Russo (Mark Lanegan, Failure, Masters of Reality, CKY) in Joshua Tree, CA. It was mixed and mastered by Danny Duran at D7 Productions and features vocals and guitar by Jessie Deluxe, baritone by Diego Velazquez, drums by Phillip Maddux, and special guest musicians Mayuko Okai on guitar (Tracks 2, 5, and 6) and piano (Track 1), and Dave Catching on the keyboard (Track 5).
Jessie Deluxe is currently working on new music that will explore new soundscapes for her audiences, coming this fall.
