October 6, 2022 – Indie pop singer MARIS released her first music video for her debut single, “Heavenly Bodies.” “Heavenly Bodies” is the first of several upcoming releases leading to her EP, expected early 2023, via Black House.

Heavenly Bodies” was co-directed by MARIS and Caro Knapp (Olivia Rodrigo, Fergie, Adobe X Netflix). What was originally a vision that MARIS had laid out on a PowerPoint presentation is now brought to life with the help of Caro.

MARIS says, “Making the music video for ‘Heavenly Bodies‘ was the manifestation of years’ worth of dreaming. From the time ‘Heavenly Bodies’ was just a demo, I had massive ideas for what the visual world could be. I’ve made a few different PowerPoints, then wrote out a rough shot list, which my co-director, Caro, ironed out and added her film expertise to.”

Heavenly Bodies” was filmed over two days, on a green set, in locations around Los Angeles including the beach at Malibu and even MARIS‘ own bedroom.

“Suddenly we were shooting with her amazing crew and editing it together! I’m so proud of how it turned out and had the most fun imaginable on set. I can’t wait to keep making movies to my music!” – MARIS

The music video for “Heavenly Bodies” is the first of several accompanying visuals to come from MARIS as she leads up to the release of her EP.
