Rose Cangelosi, on the song & working with Natalie Mae Palms:

“‘Thought You Should Know’ is a love letter past its expiration date, as well as the first song that I ever wrote, over a decade ago. I am a multi-genre freelance drummer by trade, but I’ve always written poems — since I was seven — and I began songwriting on piano and guitar later on after I got serious about being a drummer. Joining forces with my co-collaborator and dear friend Natalie Mae has been a huge inspiration, and an opportunity to give this song its proper day in the sun. We filmed this music video during sunset in a wildflower field, while on tour in Michigan this past August.

This song is a melancholy echo of a doomed love affair — a fate that is difficult to accept. It calls for comfort and warmth from a dying ember, with an air of hope and vulnerability.

I love working with Natalie Mae. She is an amazingly skilled musician, songwriter and an incredibly kind, sweet, and hilarious person.”
