Olivia Frances Transports You to Prism Skies and Lace Like Clouds in New Single “Daffodil Dreams”

Nashville-based multi-award-winning folk/pop independent artist Olivia Frances’ new single, “Daffodil Dreams” is a floaty, flowery love song as sweet and shimmery as the summer breeze. Filled with awe and loving energy, listening just might put you in a daze of prism skies and lace like clouds. Magical to the ear and sensual to the touch, Frances is in a similar sphere to artists like Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers, and First Aid Kit.

“Daffodil Dreams” was written with Lorri McComb in February 2020 in a little writer’s room on Music Row in Nashville, TN. Frances was introduced to McComb through Kris Bergsnes, a mutual friend and longtime songwriter. Before the session, McComb had listened extensively to Frances’ catalogue and had come up with the title, “Daffodil Dreams.” Frances remembers hearing it, “And almost immediately, I felt like there was something there. There are certain ideas that feel like they’re begging to be written.” She got out her guitar and the pair co-created and finished the colorful tune that afternoon.

A love song through and through, “Daffodil Dreams” blossomed for Frances at the height of a relationship that crumbled a few weeks later as the pandemic began. When listening back, she feels like there’s a certain kind of innocence present as she had no idea that shortly after writing it would come such intense heartbreak and pain for her and for the world.

Frances is no stranger to love songs as her single, “Moon to My Sun” was the VOX Pop Winner in the Love Song Category at the 16th Annual Independent Music Awards. Her most recent album Orchid was nominated for Album of the Year (Multi-Genre) and she was nominated as Artist of the Year (Multi-Genre) in the Josie Music Awards. “Daffodil Dreams” produced by the distinguished Pat Lassiter at Riverfront Recording Studios in Nashville opens a new musical chapter for Frances. She can’t wait for her fans to hear what’s to come; and it’s right on the horizon.

After over a year of virtual shows, including her weekly livestream series, Midweek Magic, Frances is currently planning summer and fall tours across the United States. Follow her on BandsinTown and catch her in a city near you.
