Reg Bloor releases third instrumental solo record ‘VIEWER DISCRETION IS NOT ADVISED’

Legendary New York Avant-Garde guitarist Reg Bloor announces the release of her third instrumental solo record “VIEWER DISCRETION IS NOT ADVISED“. Following a soft release in 2023, the record will be launching wide on January 10, 2024. She will be celebrating the release with a performance at Zebulon in Los Angeles with opener Randy Randall Ensemble.

Releasing on SYSTEMS NEUTRALIZERS, the label Reg started with fellow underground legend Glenn Branca, this is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed solo releases 2015’s “Theme from an Imaginary Slasher” and 2018’s “Sensory Irritation Chamber”. Having spent decades touring the world as a member of Branca’s Ensemble as well as her own projects the 2000’s band The Paranoid Critical Revolution and the 1990s band Twitcher, Reg went solo in 2014.

Long in the shadow of her more legendary collaborator, Reg’s innovative mix of frantic No Wave, Out Jazz, and screechy Metal as well as her inventive chords, angular atonality, and groundbreaking techniques, as well as her impish sense of humor, have been an unsung influence on two generations of New York experimental guitarists. She is now prepared to throw off the shadows and claim her place in the annals of experimental guitar.

As a solo artist she has shared bills with such acts as Lydia Lunch, Oneida, and Stephen O’Malley of Sun O))) and on festivals such as Basilica DroneOff Festival, and Red Bull Music Academy NY Festival where Reg’s set was called “Possibly the best performance I saw all night” by Ben Ratliff of The New York TimesThe New York Observer‘s Brad Cohan named Reg one of the 15 Best Metal Bands in NYC, and Robert Fripp has called her one of his favorite guitarists.

Available for sale on Bandcamp and wherever music is sold.
