Earlier this year, WILDWOOD released her first single “Moonrise” which showcased her abilities as a songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, and it received over 150k streams on Spotify.
Today, WILDWOOD releases her second single, “Secrets,” which features cunning lyrics, edgy production, and an impressive string arrangement. Written by WILDWOOD in a back room of Sound Shop Studios – the studio where Paul McCartney recorded an album in 1974 – before it was torn down in recent years, “Secrets” tells the story of a misguided relationship, one based on secrets, lies, and deceit. In the end, the protagonist reveals her own bombshell of a secret – that she’s walking away: “In the dark is where you hide, but in the light you’re going to find your secret secret is walking away.”
The song was produced and mixed by Brandon Metcalf and recorded at South x Sea in East Nashville.
WILDWOOD is an up and coming Nashville-based singer-songwriter signed with the indie record label South X Sea. A descendant of the Carter family, she pays homage to the family’s 1928 song “Wildwood Flower” with the stage name WILDWOOD.
