It’s that time of year again, folks, for the Wire & Wood Alpharetta Music Festival, and this year’s lineup is GREAT! Headlining Friday night is the great blues musician from Austin, Texas, Ruthie Foster. We had a chance to catch up with her this week, so stay tuned for our interview. Foster is a four-time GRAMMY nominee and draws influences from musicians like Mavis Staples and Aretha Franklin—her sound crosses multiple genres. Her last album Live At the Paramount was released in May of 2020; however, Foster tells us she has been busy writing and recording, and a new album is on the horizon for the summer of 2022.
Many local musicians will be performing on various stages throughout downtown Alpharetta, Georgia including local favorite Michelle Malone, Emily Hackett, Leah Belle Faser, and so many others. Americana band Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors will headline Saturday’s schedule to close out the two-day event.
And the best part of all, the festival is FREE. For a complete list of performers and stages, visit https://wireandwoodalpharetta.com/.
