Kelly Lang Releases New Single “Midnight Train To Georgia”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Nationally acclaimed singer/songwriter Kelly Lang has released her version of “Midnight Train To Georgia,” as her latest single off her upcoming project “Old Soul II,” sponsored by Springer Mountain Farms. Originally performed by Gladys Knight & The Pips, Lang’s beautiful vocals soar on the soulful song. The lyric video depicts the storyline through unfolding clips starting from the L.A. skyline, to the train windows, and ending at the “Welcome to Georgia,” road sign. “Being that I am THE biggest Gladys Knight fan of all time, it was only fitting that I would include her classic song ‘Midnight Train To Georgia’ on my new project ‘Old Soul II,’ shares Lang. “A friend of mine, the great Jim Weatherly wrote this iconic tune that has now been proclaimed Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 1999. I know you are not supposed to fix what is not broken, but I wanted to honor her in the best way I know how, and that is by recording her incredible song. Lang recently received the “Icon Award” at The Alice Awards Gala as part of The Southern Women in Film & Television (SWIFT) Summit. The Alice Awards recognize women who have all demonstrated perseverance in the pursuit of their dreams despite difficulties, hardships, and life’s circumstances and each has emerged stronger. The SWIFT Summit that spanned the entire weekend included the Alice Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner, red carpet events, speaking presentations, and more.
