National Cannabis Festival Postpones 2020 Celebration As COVID-19 Concerns Continue, Policy Virtual Summit Remains Sept. 10, 2020

The festival headlined by Method Man and Redman will now take place on Saturday, April 17th, 2021 at RFK Campus.

WASHINGTON, DC – Citing guidance from Washington D.C.’s health and venue authorities due to the COVID-19 global health crisis, the organizers of the National Cannabis Festival (NCF) have decided to postpone the 2020 Festival scheduled to take place on September 19th at the RFK Campus. NCF will now take place on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the same location.

“Postponing our fifth year anniversary event was unimaginable just a few months ago, but we need to do what’s best for our community,” said Caroline Phillips, founder of the National Cannabis Festival. “The past few months have brought unimaginable hardship to so many, my team included. The most important thing is that we protect attendee safety and support city leaders in their efforts to quell the impact of the pandemic, and unfortunately that means postponing our September event.”

All purchases for the 2020 Festival will be honored in 2021. However, General Admission purchasers can visit this link to request a refund from Front Gate Tickets before July 25, 2020 and can expect refunds to start being delivered in as little as 30 days. VIP Members can contact vip@nationalcannabisfestival.com

“As an independent, minority woman-owned festival, we set out to use this year’s festival as a call to action for our fans ahead of the November election, amplifying the voices of activists on racial justice and drug policy reform.” Phillips added. “Now we’re focused on ensuring that we provide education and information through free online workshops and programs like the virtual National Cannabis Policy Summit taking place on September 10, 2020.”

Learn more about NCF:

In addition to the programs listed above, this Summer NCF is going virtual, bringing fans up-close-and-personal interviews with industry influencers, demos of popular cannabis products, and sneak peeks at the behind the scenes process behind planning the festival each year. Be on the lookout for the full schedule, coming soon.

NCF 2021

2021 is expected to be NCF’s most exciting and comprehensive festival yet as it raises awareness of federal cannabis legislation and the need for criminal justice reform while creating a platform for equity and accessibility in the cannabis industry. NCF will once again host four educational pavilions; wellness, culture, policy, and grow, and of course – showcase an incredible musical lineup.

Tickets:

General admission tickets for the 2021 event will be available for $55, general admission bundles start at $70 and early-entry general admission tickets are available for $85. VIP Memberships include entry to multiple events around D.C., all-inclusive drinks and food at the festival, access to VIP areas and an NCF goody box! VIP CannaCabanas are also available for you and nine of your best buds to enjoy all the perks of the VIP program, plus your own VIP lounge space, beverage service and a CannaCabana Concierge in the weeks leading up to and at NCF to ensure the best experience possible.

Music:

The NCF concert will feature hip-hop artists Method Man and Red Man, Young M.A, Backyard Band, Antibalas, The Archives, Lee, Blackwood & Graham and DJ Farrah Flosscett.

Education:

In addition to the concert, the festival includes four educational pavilions (Wellness, Policy, Culture, and the Grow School) highlighting the work that activists are engaged in to advocate for greater equity, accessibility, and criminal justice reform for the cannabis community.

Seniors & Veterans:

Don’t leave nana and papa at home! NCF has a special Seniors Lounge offering a senior discount and a Veterans’ Lounge, hosted by Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA). The veterans’ lounge serves as a retreat from the hustle and bustle of festivities and a place where those who have served our country can connect over shared experiences.

Ultimate Weed Wedding:

We look forward to honoring the winners of the Ultimate Weed Wedding at the festival with a wedding on the main stage at NCF before Method Man & Redman perform. In addition, the lucky couple receives: two VIP passes and 10 General Admission passes for wedding party guests, floral bouquets, wedding gifts from our sponsors, and a Pink Fox wedding cake for the wedding party!

Community Changemaker Award:

In 2021, NCF will present the fifth annual Community Changemaker Award created in honor of Kevin Cross, a member of the NCF family who passed away in 2017.

Cannatank Entrepreneur Contest:
The CannaTank Contest is an opportunity for prospective entrepreneurs to get their ideas in front of industry leaders and investors and be eligible to win $1,000 in start-up assistance, admission to VIP Festival events, a strategy meeting with Denver Relief Consulting and more. Come and see the final pitches in the Policy Pavilion at the festival on April 17, 2021.

Basic Information:

The fifth annual National Cannabis Festival takes place on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the RFK Festival Grounds in Lot 6/7 of RFK Campus. The third annual National Cannabis Policy Summit takes place online on Thursday, September 10, 2020. Policy Summit speakers and panelists will be announced at a later date.
