Alt-pop singer and guitarist Lisey Tigra returns with a new dark pop hymn featuring luscious vocals, hypnotising guitars and otherworldly production. Following a successful release of her EP ‘Crime Scene’, receiving praise from BBC Introducing, Noctis Mag and CLOUT, among others, this young artist’s releases are already turning many heads in the industry.
Speaking on the ethereal new track, Lisey explains: ‘Lyrically, it is about those relationships that feel like a competition of who is less a”ached, and you are constantly trying to one-up each other. I played with the textures and mix of the track to create a feeling of constantly coming in and out of water. One moment you are submerged, close to drowning and the next you come up for air and it feels like heaven. It is like what those relationships tend to
feel like.’
Based in London, she is staking her claim in one of the most challenging music scenes in the world. She is determined to popularise her unusual sound cra#ed from a unique blend of influences. Lisey explains: ‘I started to play the guitar at 13, inspired by old-school rock bands. However, my songwriting and vocal style is more modern, inspired by artists like Lana del Rey and BANKS. But the guitar aspect is still very important to me, as it is to most of my fans who have been following me for a long time. It is a challenge to bring those two worlds together but I think in this track it really works.’
