GRITTY IN PINK VIRTUAL TOUR HITS CHICAGO JUST IN TIME FOR LOLLAPALOOZA MANIA, AFTER KICKING OFF IN NYC

Chicago (July 2021): Gritty In Pink’s virtual tour will breeze into the Windy City Chicago on Tuesday, August 3 at 6 PM PT/8 PM CT on Gritty In Pink’s IG. The Chi-town lineup features guitarist/soul bird JUNO, all-girl jam band Neptune’s Core, dynamic-duo OK Cool, electric-pop singer/songwriter Super Knova and alt-pop/rock songstress Mel Senese. The show will be hosted by Shiragirl and with special guest/house bandmates Alex Nicole Windsor (from Shiragirl) and Lindsay Martin (Lilith Czar, Wasi) The remainder of the tour will feature over 25 amazing female artists and special guest appearances from the Gritty family. The tour is sponsored by Mackie, Guitar Girl Magazine, Owl’s Brew, Pitfire Pizza and proceeds raised from each show will be donated to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund

Gritty In Pink embarked on their first stop of their 2021 virtual summer tour in NYC this July; that episode can be viewed on their IGTV. Shiragirl and Rainey P opened the show with the Shiragirl original “I Must Be Dreamin.” Tatiana Clay from Sweet Relief joined to discuss the organization’s mission to help struggling individuals within the music industry and expanding resources during the pandemic. “We are still seeing applications come in, just because the industry is coming back, doesn’t mean everyone is getting their jobs back.” The Sweet Relief Musicians Fund provides financial assistance to musicians and music professionals who are struggling financially if they are facing an illness, disability or age-related issues, over its 27-year span the organization has helped countless music professionals. 

The rest of the show did not disappoint. Pop artist Shenna swooned the audience with an acoustic version of her song “They Call It Lazy” and talked about working on the music video for the song: “I wanted to show how I feel about the music industry. I don’t want to be controlled, and sometimes I feel like a robot.” Gritty newcomer Jules Walcott joined the show with a cover of Tove Lo’s “Habit”, discussed her breakthrough on TikTok and upcoming single “Let Me Go.” Mia Giovina serenaded everyone with her new single “Time Machine.” Elle Baez performed her new disco-infused single “Better With You”. Enrose got the audience grooving with her saxophone-assisted single “Wait, Create.” Lastly, Mae Krell concluded the show with a mellow acoustic set of her new single “Color Blind.” 

With all eyes on Chicago for Lollapalooza this weekend, there couldn’t be a better time to showcase the city’s local female artists.
