The Women’s International Music Network Partners with Radio Memphis to Launch WiMN Artist Spotlight

Press Release:  The Women’s International Music Network (the WIMN) is proud to announce its partnership with Memphis-based radio station Radio Memphis for the launch of the WiMN Artist Spotlight.

The latest addition to the WiMN’s She Rocks Showcases, the WiMN Artist Spotlight is a weekly segment that features up-and-coming female artists and their music, shared during a live global broadcast that airs to more than 147 countries.

“The WiMN Artist Spotlight is one of the WiMN’s many initiatives to provide opportunities for women in music, and we are excited to have partnered with a radio station as supportive as Radio Memphis. This new collaboration will allow women in music of all different genres to display their talent to thousands of people around the world,” saidWiMN Founder, Laura B. Whitmore.

“The indie music scene possesses such a wide and distinct variety of talented people. When we built Radio Memphis, we wanted to make sure as much of that diversity was showcased where possible. Our partnership with the WiMN speaks to that very goal,” said Ric Chetter, president of Radio Memphis parent company, Pirate Radio Studios, Inc.

Launched on Jan. 9 with pianist and singer-songwriter Jenna Paone, and followed by guitarist and singer-songwriter Alexx Calisse on Jan. 16, the spotlight airs every Saturday during Radio Memphis Around the World (1 p.m. – 5 p.m. CT) at 2:30 p.m. CT, hosted by Dianna “D” Fryer. Coming up, artists Bryce Hitchcock will be featured on January 23 and Taylor Tote on January 30.
