Sound Royalties Announces Expansion of $500,000 Hurricane Relief Fund to Include Hurricane Maria Victims in Puerto Rico

West Palm Beach, FL – Sept. 22, 2017 – Following the latest devastation reaped by Hurricane Maria, music-industry specialty finance firm Sound Royalties is demonstrating its continued commitment to the music community by extending it’s $500,000 in hurricane relief advances to Puerto Rico musicians and industry professionals affected by the Category 5 storm.

As the company recently did with both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma, Sound Royalties is offering interest-free and fee-free royalty advances to all music professionals in Puerto Rico impacted by Hurricane Maria. This special offer is available to any songwriters, producers, artists, or others in the music field who have been impacted by any of the recent hurricanes. Sound Royalties will immediately advance up to $5,000 to all qualifying music professionals to assist with their storm recovery efforts.

“The enormous damage and distress caused by the recent hurricanes is mind-boggling. We want our colleagues in the music community to know that Sound Royalties is here and can assist them with getting their lives back into a normal rhythm,” said Sound Royalties Founder and CEO Alex Heiche. “We’ve been humbled and inspired to see the difference that our pledge has made for those in Florida and Texas, and are pleased to extend the same offer to our musical friends and family on the island of Puerto Rico.”

Miami resident and music producer Diego Lopez said of his Sound Royalties’ hurricane advance: “It helped me with lodging, food, and gas for the whole seven days I was gone when evacuating. I’m disabled, so the whole process was a little harder for me. I’ve had to deal with the loss of work, loss of time and hurricane damage,” said Lopez. “Sound Royalties did a very nice thing to advance me. It definitely helped me in this emergency, hurricane situation.”

Hip-hop and EDM producer and artist Enzo, who evacuated the Houston area with his family due to Hurricane Harvey, said of the advance that Sound Royalties provided: “Every bit counts, and this is a significant amount to really help us with food, gas, and whatever else we need. I really appreciate it,” he said. “You can’t find people and institutions that, out of a kind heart, choose to help out a family, so I’m very grateful. It means a lot to me and my family.”
