Summer NAMM 2017: Wrap-Up

Yamaha Guitars

Andy Windsor of Yamaha showed us what’s new for Yamaha at Summer NAMM is the Billy Corgan Limited Edition signature guitar- the LJ16BC.  They’ve taken all the specs that Corgan uses on stage and put them in this instrument.  They will only be producing 100 in the natural finish and 50 in the brown sunburst.  Priced at $999, it will come with a hardshell case.

Also new this year is their FJ800 series which we believe would be a great fit for younger guitar players based on the narrower waist of the guitar making it easier to play while sitting or standing.  It also features a tapered body which is slimmer in the upper mount as compared to the lower mount.  The guitar has a solid Sitka spruce top with laminate back and sides.

Yamaha has a revision of their AC Series, particularly the AC3 and AC5 which would also be a great fit for younger players.  This guitar also features the narrower waist is made of solid Sitka spruce top, solid Rosewood back and sides, and features a new electronic system.  Stay tuned for our product review.
