The Women’s International Music Networks hosts events at CBGB Festival in NYC

Panel and Showcase Highlight Women in Music

The Women’s International Music Network (theWiMN.com) announces it will host a panel and showcase as part of the CBGB Festival in New York City on October 10, 2013.

The panel, titled “Women in Music: The Good, the Bad and the What the HELL?!” will take place on Thursday, October 10 from 4-5pm, in Theater 2 at the Sunshine Theater (143 E. Houston St). WiMN founder Laura B. Whitmore will moderate the panel that includes writer and SeriousXM host Zeena Koda, musician MilitiA, and Tobi Parks of Sony Music Entertainment. CBGB Festival music conference badge holders are welcome to attend. To purchase a badge, visit www.CBGB.com.

In addition, the WiMN presents “She Rocks: A Showcase of Female Talent” on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Canal Room (285 W Broadway), from 8:00pm to midnight. Doors open at 7:30pm. Laura B. Whitmore will be there as emcee to introduce a roster of female-fronted NYC-based bands. CBGB Festival badge holders are welcome to attend. Individual tickets for this event may be purchased for $10 advance from www.canalroom.com or $12 at the door.

Female Artists to Perform at Women's International Music Network CBGB Festival

The bill includes:

11:00pm – Queen V

Known for her electrifying performances, QUEEN V is the reigning rock regent of NYC. Her 2013 release, The Decade of Queen V features guest appearances by Motörhead’s Lemmy Kilmister and Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello.

10:00pm – MilitiA Vox

Front woman for the all-girl heavy metal sensation JUDAS PRIESTESS, MilitiA Vox will perform original material from the new multimedia project, The Villianess. A must see!

9:00pm – Izzy Zay

Izzy Zay is one of New York’s sharpest alternative rockers. Her exotic good looks, strong batch of songs and ability to speak four languages make this singer/multi-instrumentalist qualified to play locally and dominate globally.

8:00pm – Ashley Allen

Ashley’s vibrant artistry is a powerful mix of call-to-arms positive messages, blissful hooks, and uplifting dance floor anthems.
