Here are ten recommendations of albums that were released by female guitarists in 2014, including familiar icons and rising newcomers:
Congratulations to Miranda Lambert, who was named Female Vocalist of the Year at last night’s inauguralAmerican Country Countdown Awards!
A couple of years ago, when Ann & Nancy Wilson, and their band Heart, joined the diverse roster of acts that have earned inductions into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the thinking was that it would be a matter of when, not if, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts would get their turn.  We even said as much when the fan voting process for this year's Rock Hall nominees, of which Joan was one of them, began over a month.

It was announced today that Sleater-Kinney has added additional dates to their upcoming North American tour after many of their shows have sold out in minutes of tickets becoming available. The new album No Cities to Love was produced by John Goodmanson in Tiny Telephone Recordings studio in San Francisco, California, and is scheduled to drop on January 20, 2015. This is Sleater-Kinney's first album in 10 years.
Press Release: The nominations for the upcoming 57th Annual Grammy Awards have been announced, and Rhonda Vincent is nominated for Bluegrass Album of the Year. Her 2014 release Only Me was received with high critical acclaim following its release, and now serves as a final contender for the highest prize in the music industry; garnering Vincent her sixth Grammy nomination. After debuting at #1, where it spent its first two weeks on the chart, the album has proved to have legs. Only Me continues the long line of history-making success that Vincent has enjoyed. Each of her past eight discs hit either No. 1 or No. 2 on the Billboard Bluegrass Album chart.
Time and time again while interviewing many of our artists, I hear that the iconic and legendary guitarist Jeff Beck was a major influence in their musical career.
